We are a passionate team of over 350 data experts, data scientists, information experts, technical specialists, and business analysts. We operate as ‘One D&A’, made up of Global engagement and expertise teams, based in our key hubs including India, the UK, and US, and local UniOps in Market D&A teams, based in our key markets. Set the Unilever data strategy and lay the foundations to maximise the value of our data.
Deliver the connected Data Platform to accelerate access to integrated and trusted data at scale across the company for analytics and decisions.
Embed core data and analytics capabilities, leading to automation, AI, and Big Data to boost Unilever’s decision intelligence.
Lead the Data and Analytics Culture to build a future-fit workforce that values and adopts data-intelligent decision-making across all levels.

Who You Are and What You’ll Do
If you are excited about data and insights and passionate about consumer product offerings with an innovative mindset for improvement, then we think this role is for you. You need to be commercially aware of the consumer market as whole, think outside the box and ask questions of the data you collect, to transform it into actionable insights for the business to grow. Your role is as much about being intuitive, personable, and commercially aware as it is about having the legitimate technical know-how. Every day, you will analyse the data you collect to give actionable insights to the category and customer team (as well as other teams across the company), which in turn allows them to deliver communication messages to their customers that accurately respond to the current customer needs and demands. Your insights should directly lead to opportunities for business growth.
Ownership of the vision to ensure that P4G tool unlock insights for growth (near term and long term)
Be skilled at working with numerous data sources to draw insights and solutions to business issues
Ensure unique and compelling insights can be presented through the integration of the unique combination of data sources which P4G tools offer
Utilise the data and analytics strategy to develop a road map of available insights for growth, increasing in sophistication as resources become available
Operate within the following framework of insight delivery
Design – tailor approaches to specific insights from P4G tools – e.g. business questions on sales growth, hypotheses for product decline, understanding profitability issues.
Develop – easily digestible insights to drive ideas, understanding and action
Deliver – a consultative approach to insights which is embedded in local businesses and engenders high levels of P4G adoption
Discover – ultimately discover new insights which drive business growth
Business partner with Category Management, suggesting new ways of delivery insight through P4G tools, and also providing additional capacity to showcase the P4G tools and capabilities within markets
Be adept at storytelling to ensure that insights can be presented in an engaging and logical way to engender adoption within the business
Build and manage relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure key business questions and issues are clearly understood and used to direct insight mining
Working knowledge of insight tools and techniques, databases and systems – e.g. quantitative methods, IRI, Nielsen.
Provide input into the Product Roadmap by identifying and creating new business opportunities
Support Product Team with understanding current and new business requirements or Change Requests to define the most viable solution
Advise Product team on business imperatives, including explanations and simple guidance on how to embed understanding e.g. VAT issues, Front & Back margin
Challenge the Product owners to develop user friendly, intuitive dashboards and reports to engender adoption and usage
Advise on prioritisation of backlog based on customer development experience
Review and provide input on wireframes as well as providing input early in the build process to validate the changes or new features
Review and provide feedback on training material
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, statistics or business/marketing with 5+ years of relevant work experience, with minimum 5+ years of experience mining data as a data analyst
Working knowledge of external market performance databases here such as IRI / Nielsen
Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
Practical experience in statistical analysis using statistical packages, incl. Excel, Microsoft PowerBI, SPSS, and SAS
Previous CPG / retailer facing experience, ideally with exposure to Category Management
Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Ability to communicate insights in a precise, and actionable manner to senior management
Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization
Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
Strong SQL or Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytics tools
Working knowledge of: Finance P&L, End to end Solution Development Life Cycle
Design Thinking, DevOps models and Agile Scrum
Demonstrable knowledge of visualization tools like PBI, Webapp or other data blending tools
