Department Overview
The Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience (TECE) organization is comprised of several major departments: Marketing, Corporate and Public Affairs, Digital Strategy Innovation & Payments, Contact Centre, Customer Assistance, ATM, Fraud, Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A), Next Evolution of Work (NEW) and Strategy, Change and Operational Excellence (SC&OE). The role with support the following departments:
SC&OE: responsible for Strategy, Performance and Productivity Management, and Governance and Controls for TECE and accelerating best-in-class Enterprise capabilities, including Change Management, Process Engineering, Business Architecture, Workforce Performance Excellence, and Digitization and Automation. SC&OE teams are Enterprise simplification experts, with the goal to enable better business outcomes and to transform with speed and effectiveness.
NEW: leads the Next Evolution of Work transformation across the Enterprise to deliver better customer outcomes faster, simplify our operating model and unleash our talent.
Job Requirements
Professional Skills and Competencies Requirements:
- Strong technical skillset and comfort with large data sets. Expert ability with Excel & Powerpoint is required, and experience using other tools (Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently – able to perform deliverables with minimal oversight to determine where value can best be added
- Teamwork/Relationship Management – ability to work effectively with stakeholders and provide support where needed
- Strong leadership skills – lead by example, champion change, and collaborate with a highly motivated team to consistently meet and exceed expectations
- Superior communication skills- a confident, transparent, and concise communicator (both verbal and written)
- Strong financial acumen with exceptional analytical skills- ability to quickly absorb information on a variety of complex issues (financial and non-financial) and consolidate inputs into clear, concise analysis to provide insights on key issues and prepare presentations
- Good judgement- ability to determine which issues to escalate vs. to resolve independently, and provide suggestions for possible resolution
Specific Educational and Professional Experience Requirements:
- University degree with an accounting designation (CPA) or MBA is considered an asset
- 3 to 7 years professional financial or experience in medium to large organization that operates using best practices and performance management processes
- Experience preferably overseeing project costing or business case functions, in a technology-based organization
- Demonstrated track record of leading new process creation and existing process improvement initiatives
- Practical experience providing financial support to a project intensive organization
- Knowledge of SDLC and Project Management practices is considered an asset

Senior Finance Analyst – Strategy, Change & Operational Excellence (SC&OE) and Next Evolution of Work (NEW)
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, TECE Finance, this role will act as the Senior Finance Analyst, supporting SC&OE and NEW. In this role you will become a subject matter expert providing value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners make data driven decisions, to develop and execute strategic plans and goals or respond to ad hoc requests for business analysis. Reporting of results will include the delivery of monthly/quarterly management reporting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and key performance metrics.
The SC&OE Finance team is responsible for financially supporting key mandates, such as Governance and Control, Change Management, Productivity and Simplification and Digitization & Automation. Value added deliverables includes analysis, reporting, strategic advice, and decision support to TECE Finance as follows:
- Leadership resulting in achievement of financial and operational objectives
- Develop, manage, and deliver an effective performance management framework for TECE, focused on key (industry standard) cost drivers, metrics, financial governance, and standards
- Deliver financial reporting of results and trends, including operational and strategic advice and recommendations
- Develop, implement, and communicate effective processes for expense management
- Support and guide decisions on technology investments and organization transformation initiatives
The successful candidate is a self-starter with ability to work in a face-paced working environment and can adapt to changing business needs and one who offers working solutions to business partners/peers/management with a focus on continuous process improvement and customer service. The candidate will be required to be independent and organized with strong technical skills, good business acumen and demonstrated problem solving, reporting and data management capabilities.
Finance Accountabilities:
- Be a valued business partner by building strong partnership with SC&OE and NEW business leaders and teams, understanding strategic goals, and effectively linking into value added financial analysis and monthly results
- Develop, refresh and present monthly/quarterly reporting, Productivity reporting, annual Plan and Forecasting views to support business decision making in a timely and accurate manner, including cost allocation model
- Identify opportunities to build meaningful financial analysis and provide value add to business partners
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues and businesses to understand change drivers
- Build reporting to track both financial and non-financial metrics against targets for numerous complex initiatives
- Enhance activities and implement effective innovative solutions, including automation, where there is an opportunity to gain efficiencies through process improvement
- Act as subject matter expert (trusted matter expert) for own area and provide guidance / advice and recommendations to support interactions with internal / external partners
- Understand and work towards a shared Finance vision and promote and foster a positive work environment that encourages productivity, professionalism, and teamwork
- Provide thought leadership on data governance strategies to improve the management of date and ensure consistent use across businesses
- Support with any ad-hoc queries, and business casing as required
