The Impact You’ll Make

You’ll help accelerate our transformation as we bring a trusted Canadian brand to customers through engaging ecommerce experiences. You’ll provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the data analytics, machine learning platform and business intelligence teams, as they partner with both business and machine-learning specialists to drive business value and exceptional experiences for our customers.

We’re building a best-in-class technology platform, and that includes robust cloud-native ML Ops capabilities, with state-of-the-art ML integrated throughout the application to build the digital versions of the experiences our customers already trust in our stores. \n

What you’ll do

  • Build and manage a high performing team of developers, analysts, M/L and data engineers
  • Lead and execute initiatives bringing best practices and state of the art thinking to our data engineering practice
  • Work closely with product teams and other tech directors to ensure the ML Ops platform we use to ship our machine-learning based services meets the highest standards of operational excellence
  • Work with the data science team to ensure we provide the tooling and support to maximize the business impact of machine-learning in our technology platform
  • Work with business and product teams to ensure the BI platform empowers reporting and data literacy across the organization
  • Lead web analytics and marketing intelligence teams to map customer behaviour and derive insights
  • Work with the SRE organization, security and privacy groups to ensure data governance and access control are implemented robustly and scalable
  • Drive a culture of engineering excellence within the Data Platform and Business Intelligence teams
  • Provide mentorship to team members, including both first-line managers and individual contributors, and act as subject matter expert

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
  • Expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with software development (preferably at least either Java or python, ideally both)
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with cloud, M/L and Bigdata technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka, Seldon, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern SDLC practices and agile methodologies
  • Solid intuitive understanding of data modelling fundamentals, and how they inform data sources and usability and warehouse and pipeline design
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong detail orientation is essential in this role

Burwood Group is seeking a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.

Responsibilities:
