Job description: The OpportunityThe Senior Manager, Internal Communications will develop and execute strategic global internal communications that drive employee engagement and understanding of the organization’s growth strategy across offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mumbai.The Senior Manager will play a key role in creating and delivering strategic executive communications, including for the CEO. This role requires an experienced and passionate internal communications professional with excellent writing skills, expertise in working with senior executives, and a talent for understanding and reflecting diverse voices in communication.Who you’ll work withReporting to the Director of Internal Communications, the Senior Manager will collaborate with colleagues in Internal Communications, the broader Marketing & Communications department, People & Culture team members as key internal clients and partners, as well as members of the Executive Team and other organizational leaders.What you’ll doStrategic executive communications:Develop and execute leading executive communications program in support of desired business outcomesDraft wide range of executive communications including memos, speaking remarks, speeches, and potentially social content, ensuring clear, concise and consistent messagingMonitor for and integrate best practices to maximize the impact of communicationsMaintain communication schedule to align efforts across the organizationContribute research and thinking into key global themes of relevance on which executives can speak outInternal communications:Contribute communication strategies to drive culture, growth and impact prioritiesDevelop content for a variety of channels, including intranet, email and other digital platformsMeasure the impact of communication efforts post-implementation and adjust as necessaryContribute to implementation of best practice internal communications capabilities in the form of events, digital, written communication channelsActively participate on cross-functional project teams and proactively bring forward new ideas and insightsRespond to research findings:Develop insight from research efforts that allows the organization to stay ahead of employee communications needsStay up-to-date on employee communications standard methodologies and use survey results and senior management feedback to fine-tune channels and approachWhat you’ll needUndergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, or a post-graduate certificate in public relationsPrevious experience in the Investments sector is required10+ years of progressive communications experience, with a focus on internal communicationsAbility to see the big picture and tailor leadership messaging to different stakeholders as neededOutstanding writing and editing expertise, with an emphasis on Investments-focused communicationsProven ability to support and counsel senior leadersClient-focused, motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, organized, and diplomaticStrong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and demandsA track record of conceiving, developing, and executing strategic internal communication plans that drive measurable business resultsExperience with new technologies and communication methods for broad employee bases (web-based training, new town hall formats, Teams, etc.).Tact and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information and senior executivesConfidence and sound judgment to effectively coach and advise senior executives on the best communication approaches and messaging to achieve business outcomesThe ability to work in areas with few guidelines or precedents, requiring independent decision-making and strategic planning#LI-RM1#LI-HybridWhat we’re offeringPay-for-performance environment that offers competitive salary and incentiveNumerous opportunities for professional growth and developmentComprehensive employer paid benefits coverageRetirement income through a defined benefit pension planThe opportunity to invest back into the fund through our Deferred Incentive ProgramA flexible/hybrid work environment combining in office collaboration and remote workingCompetitive time offOur Flexible Travel Program gives you the option to work abroad in another region/country for up to a month each yearEmployee discount programs including Edvantage and PerkopolisAt Ontario Teachers’, diversity is one of our core strengths.
