This is a unique role for a new graduate to join the BWXT NEC engineering team into a 3-year rotational program that would expose the successful candidate to multiple roles in our Peterborough location. This rotation program would include 3-4 (approx. 12 months each) engineering assignments including roles in Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Boundary & Analysis Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering. These assignments would depend on the candidate’s skillset, desire, and company business demands.BWXT NEC’s Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. • Competence in mechanical equipment design and design processes
• Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
• CAD 3D modeling and design for manufacturability
• Execution of design/analysis/test/commissioning of complex equipment and systems.
• Liaise with customer design, operations, and maintenance personnel to gather site-specific design information. Execute walk-downs of various equipment in the plant.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable company, technical, and regulatory standards.
• Support the development and estimating of engineering proposals.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• New graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in either Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace with exemplary academic achievement.
• Co-op or internship experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Competence in design and design processes.
• Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Flexibility to work remotely on short-term customer site assignment.

Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
