Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Financial Advisor, you’ll deliver on CIBC’s Imperial Service remote advisory offer, acting as a single point of contact for your clients and helping them plan for today’s needs and tomorrow’s goals. You’ll build and grow your client portfolio through dedicated relationship management, financial planning support, and exceptional client service. You’ll make lasting connections and provide tailored financial advice, enabling clients to secure their futures, own their homes, and build their businesses.

You will engage with clients primarily over the phone, video conferencing, all with the support of powerful digital tools. To excel in this tightly regulated role you should already have the appropriate licenses and knowledge of all the latest financial products on the market.

You’ll be required to work typical office hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and two 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM shifts per week, and one Saturday shift per month.

How You’ll Succeed

Building Deep Relationships with clients

  • Focus on each client experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful.
  • Build and enhance relationships with new and existing clients by understanding their priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward looking financial plan. Use your knowledge of cash management, credit, investment and wealth protection to recommend a full range of solutions considering the clients’ current situation, risk profile, time horizon, latest developments in the markets and other factors.
  • Proactively call and take calls from new and existing clients, with the goal of providing holistic advice

Subject Matter Expert

  • Leverage CIBC’s wide range of credit and investment solutions to provide a needs-based approach that will result in satisfied, loyal clients and increased referrals. Educate clients on the features and benefits of the Imperial Service Offer.
  • Leverage our strong suite of tools, including emerging digital capability to help clients understand what they need to do to achieve their goals and to encourage them to act on your recommendations.
  • Help clients be ‘retirement ready’ through the use of planning tools.

Business Development –

  • Deeply understand your potential client base and create a sales plan that will convert leads into new opportunities, and deliver bottom line results.
  • Proactively identify additional opportunities to grow the business within your portfolio.
  • Meet all activities, sales and revenue targets while growing your book of business.
  • Develop and share ongoing best practices, sales, marketing, continuous improvement and business development ideas and strategies with peers.

We are looking for a highly motivated Strategy and Planning Lead to join our Data & Technology team in Toronto. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning you will collaborate on the design and lead the execution of Data & Technology’s strategic planning. You will also act as a change agent and business agility champion, establishing effective relationships and working collaboratively across Data & Technology teams, business teams and external partners. You will educate employees at all levels on strategy and planning best practices, providing them with the tools and guardrails needed to maximize their individual and team impacts.

Working with the Senior Manager, you will rollout Data & Technology’s refreshed approach to strategic planning and work with the Data & Technology leaders on continuously aligning their strategies to an overall integrated plan. You will own the strategy map as well as guide teams, business leaders and executives to incorporate agility at the intersection of their business planning and execution.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Refining and aligning a strategy and operational plan for Data & Technology aligned to OMERS priorities

Supporting the evolution of the Data & Technology strategic planning approach from an annual plan to a 24-month horizon

Researching and proposing new strategic considerations in the context of digital, data, and financial services

Supporting the Data & Technology strategic planning process and execution of the strategic plan, which has a significant impact on the department and the broader OMERS organization

Supporting the translat ion of OMERS and Data & Technology strategic priorities into relevant and actionable outcomes

Establishing yourself as a go-to subject matter expert at OMERS in strategy

Developing and monitoring key success factors to track the qualitative and quantitative impact of strateg ic planning and process changes

Regularly capturing feedback and revis ing plan/materials as required

Demonstrating a solid understanding and background with business agility/agile concepts

To succeed in this role, you have:
A minimum 4 -6 years of work experience in strategy and planning roles with measurable results

Strong collaboration skills, are a great teammate, and proactive individual contributor

Ability to identify key business drivers and associate the target outcomes and value to craft good storytelling

Prior experience working in Agile teams and an a bility to act as a change agent

Strong experience in innovative, multi-channel adoption and engagement techniques, with a focus on agility

A c onsistent track record in relationship-building and gaining consensus for new programs and initiatives

Outstanding communication, presentation and facilitation skills , preferably with executive audiences

Certified SAFe ® 4 Program Consultant (SPC ) nice to have
