Position Title: Training Analyst/LMS Administrator Support

Location: Vancouver Island or Vancouver Lower Mainland

Salary Range: $64,600 – $80,700 per year

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Job Overview:
BC Ferries is seeking a Training Analyst/LMS Administrator Support to join their Operational Training team. This role is pivotal in maintaining learning management systems and analyzing training data to enhance learning experiences and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary contact for online training requirements, addressing inquiries from trainees, scheduling services, and operations.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze training and certification data, providing insights to support training strategies and budgeting.
  • Assist in developing and implementing business processes to ensure the accuracy and maintenance of training requirements.
  • Manage and maintain data entry in Oracle Learning Management (OLM), including training events, certificates, and competency creation.
  • Support the design and implementation of online courses, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to address course design and technical issues.
  • Identify, monitor, and resolve technical issues within various online learning platforms such as Employee Self Service (ESS), OLM, and SEA.
  • Participate in project teams for the implementation of LMS functionalities and enhancements.
  • Provide expertise in learning management systems, including data migration and HR information systems.
  • Assist in designing and implementing instructions for online training across all levels of access.
  • Perform technical maintenance and troubleshooting of course content and the LMS.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and update of SharePoint, Articulate, and Academy website content.
  • Oversee the functionality of the Academy website, evaluating and managing website performance.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education in adult education, instructional design, or relevant work experience; commitment to pursuing formal training in these areas is also acceptable.
  • Degree in IT or Computer Science preferred.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with 3 or more years of administrative and adult education experience within the marine industry.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Oracle-based programs, SEA LMS, SharePoint, Articulate, databases, and website design and maintenance is an asset.
