The role involves supporting the Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk by collaborating with senior managers throughout the organization to identify risk factors. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or business/program/project management.
The City of Vancouver is seeking a Risk Analyst to support its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. This role involves collaborating with senior managers to identify, analyze, treat, and monitor risks and opportunities across the organization. The Risk Analyst will develop and maintain tools for risk identification and reporting, support ERM reporting to stakeholders, and build effective relationships with business units to address and resolve issues related to enterprise-wide risk management. Additional responsibilities include advising business units on risk management processes, contributing to departmental risk management, developing training materials, coordinating process improvement initiatives, and conducting risk analytics as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or business, with a proven track record in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Program or project management qualifications and experience are preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Power BI is advantageous.
- Considerable knowledge of ERM, Governance Risk Compliance (GRC), and audit processes in large, complex organizations is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to develop and implement new processes and systems, including IT systems.
- Ability to assess and prioritize issues based on a risk management model.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
