Job Description:
First Student Canada is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team in Oakville, Ontario. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close process, and financial reporting. The Junior Accountant will also provide support to the finance team and work on ad-hoc projects as needed. This is a great opportunity for a recent accounting graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
– Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
– Assist with month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations
– Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed
– Provide support to the finance team on various projects
– Adhere to internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
– Strong understanding of accounting principles
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Detail-oriented and well-organized
