Job Description:
The Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition (GNSC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Neighbourhood Support Worker.
This is a full-time position based in Guelph, Ontario. As a Neighbourhood Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services to residents in the community, including program development, community outreach, and support services coordination.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of community development principles, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement community programs and initiatives to support residents in the neighbourhood
– Provide assistance to individuals and families in accessing community services and resources
– Build relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and residents to enhance community engagement and collaboration
– Plan and facilitate workshops, events, and activities to promote social inclusion and community well-being
– Collect and maintain data on program outcomes and participant demographics
– Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community events as required
Qualifications:
– Diploma or degree in social services, community development, or a related field
– Minimum 2 years of experience working in community support services or a similar role
– Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Knowledge of local community resources and services
– Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
