Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations across SSA Group’s portfolio of construction projects and properties. This role involves leading and mentoring the accounting team, implementing process enhancements, and providing valuable financial insights to support the company’s growth and financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor, and supervise junior accountants.
• Prepare project job cost reports, including cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting for construction projects and properties.
• Collaborate with project and development teams, property managers, and other departments to provide financial support and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
• Handle all aspects of project and property accounting with minimal supervision.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for multiple companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly tax filings and remittances (e.g., GST, WCB, etc.).
• Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Prepare annual CAM and Property Tax recovery reconciliation and billings.
• Enter construction and property budgets in Sage 300.
• Experience with payroll is an asset.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation is strongly preferred, or progress towards or completion of an accounting designation.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in project accounting and property management is mandatory.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 and Buildium).
