Job Description:

BC Ferries is seeking a Principal Establishment Engineer to join our team in Salt Spring Island, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and maintenance of the ferry terminals to ensure they operate at optimal efficiency and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide technical expertise and guidance on terminal equipment and infrastructure projects
– Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to develop and implement maintenance programs
– Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
– Manage the budget and resources for terminal maintenance projects
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support the smooth operation of the ferry terminals
– Stay up to date with industry best practices and technologies to drive continuous improvement in terminal operations

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, preferably in the marine or transportation industry
– Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is considered an asset
– Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
