The Custodial and Environmental Services Manager at a private school in Vancouver, BC, will oversee custodial operations and environmental services. This role involves managing the cleaning staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and safe learning environment. The manager will also coordinate with the Home Services team to enhance campus facilities and promote sustainability initiatives.

The job description for the Custodial and Environmental Services Manager position at Sodexo in Vancouver, BC, includes the following responsibilities:

• Oversight of Services: Manage all Soft Services, Environmental Services, Grounds Keeping, and Snow Removal functions for the assigned area or site.

• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, motivate, direct, and supervise front-line and supervisory employees. Assign work based on client and service requirements, and perform audits to ensure adherence to client standards.

• Training and Development: Ensure proper training for staff, provide recommendations for remedial training as needed, and maintain compliance with safety training and procedures.

• Inventory Management: Maintain and track inventory levels of supplies and related costs, providing recommendations on supply orders.

• Scheduling and Dispatch: Prioritize work assignments within the assigned area/shift to meet client needs and expectations, and oversee the completion of special project cleaning assignments.

• Safety Compliance: Perform daily safety checks and inspections, conduct safety observations on employees, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

The position requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in operations or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. A proven track record of hands-on leadership in driving operational excellence, with 3-5 years of experience in Soft Services, Environmental Services, and Food Services within a manufacturing environment, is highly desirable. Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities, are essential. Experience with GMP cleaning processes is a strong asset. The role also demands initiative, good judgment, leadership abilities, and supervisory capabilities. The ability to develop and implement budgetary guidelines for all departments is also required.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year, along with extended benefits (Medical, Dental, Optical, Prescription Drug Plan) from day one, paid vacation, and more.
