Salary: $23.22 – $29.42 per hour

Description:
The San Diego County Office Of Education is seeking a Librarian to join our team. The Librarian will be responsible for providing professional library services to the students, including selecting, acquiring, and organizing library materials, as well as assisting students in using information resources and technology. The Librarian will also work closely with teachers and staff to support the school’s instructional program and collaborate on curriculum development.

Responsibilities:
– Select and acquire library materials, including books, periodicals, online resources, and audiovisual materials
– Organize and maintain the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and inventory
– Assist students in locating and using library resources and technology
– Teach library and research skills to students, including information literacy and digital literacy
– Collaborate with teachers and staff on curriculum development and instructional support
– Develop and implement library programs and services to promote literacy and reading
– Manage the library budget, including purchasing and maintaining library materials
– Stay up to date on current trends and developments in library and information science
– Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance library skills and knowledge
– Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration

Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program
– Valid California Librarian Services Credential
– Strong knowledge of library and information science principles and practices
– Experience working in a school library setting, preferably in a K-12 environment
– Familiarity with library automation systems and online databases
– Excellent organizational and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teachers and staff
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse student population
– Commitment to promoting literacy and lifelong learning
