Mortgage Underwriter

We are currently seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and evaluating mortgage applications in accordance with lending guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

– Reviewing and analyzing mortgage applications to determine credit worthiness and risk factors
– Verifying and validating applicant information, including income, credit history, and employment
– Assessing property valuations and ensuring loan-to-value ratios are in line with lending criteria
– Communicating with loan officers, underwriting managers, and applicants to gather additional information or documentation as needed
– Rendering credit decisions and issuing approvals or denials based on findings
– Ensuring compliance with all applicable lending regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

– 3+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting
– Thorough understanding of lending regulations and guidelines
– Strong analytical and decision-making skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
– Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
