Pearl West is seeking a Front-End Developer Intern with a focus on Shopify to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As an intern, you’ll collaborate with our design and development teams to build and optimize custom Shopify themes, gaining hands-on experience in front-end development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement responsive layouts, animations, and interactive components using tools like GSAP and ScrollMagic.
• Support A/B testing and analyze UI variations to improve conversion rates.
• Contribute to performance optimization, including site speed and Core Web Vitals.
• Collaborate with designers and marketers to ensure pixel-perfect storefront execution.
• Participate in QA testing and resolve UI bugs across devices and browsers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Web Development, Computer Science, or related program.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Interest in UI/UX design and front-end development.
• Willingness to learn Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Portfolio or GitHub with relevant front-end work (course, freelance, or personal projects).

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with CSS animations, GSAP, or ScrollMagic.
• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or Alpine.js.
• Interest in eCommerce, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), or user behavior.
• Basic understanding of SEO/accessibility best practices.
