Job Description

Position: Staff Nurse, Medical Surgical

Location: Toronto, ON

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our team on the Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care and support, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans
– Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
– Monitor patients’ condition and react quickly to changes
– Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention
– Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care
– Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
– Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
– Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times

Qualifications:
– Registered Nurse (RN) certification
– Current CPR certification
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting
– Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
– Must be able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends
