Job Overview:
Baycrest is seeking a Personal Support Worker to join the Nursing and Personal Care Services team. In this role, you will provide personal care and support services to residents within the program to meet their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will work within the interdisciplinary team to contribute to the delivery of personalized care.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide personal care to residents, including assisting with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming
– Support residents with mobility and transfers
– Assist with feeding and hydration as needed
– Contribute to the development and updating of individualized care plans for residents
– Participate in the organization and maintenance of the resident’s environment
– Document care provided in accordance with established policies and procedures
– Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications:
– Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate program
– One year of related experience in a long-term care setting is preferred
– Knowledge of dementia care and empathetic approach to care
– Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
