Lead Data Scientist

ShopperTrak Canada, Ltd. Mississauga, ON

ShopperTrak Canada, Ltd. is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the Director, Data Science, the Senior Data Scientist will lead the development of advanced analytics and machine learning models to enable actionable insights for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

– Design and develop machine learning models to analyze and extract insights from large datasets
– Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business problems that can be addressed using advanced analytics
– Utilize statistical analysis and data visualization techniques to interpret data and provide actionable insights
– Communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
– Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate analytics and models into existing and new products
– Stay current with emerging trends and tools in data science and machine learning to drive innovation within the organization

Qualifications:

– Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering
– 5+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, with a focus on statistical modeling and machine learning
– Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala
– Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques
– Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or SQL
– Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
