Salary: $25 – $30 per hour

Corporate Construction is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in Ottawa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.

Responsibilities:
– Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
– Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work
– Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required sizes, using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machine
– Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
– Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters’ hand or power tools
– Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw
– Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenters’ hand tools, or power tools

Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a Carpenter
– Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
– Hands-on experience in working with power tools
– Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods
– Knowledge of various carpentry techniques
– Ability to read technical documents and drawings
– Good communication skills
– Ability to work in a team
