VisitPurpose of RoleThe Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) Intern will assist the FP&A function (within the Kinross Corporate Finance department) with month-end and quarter-end financial close, analysis and both internal and external reporting processes. As well, the FP&A Intern will contribute significantly to the second quarter forecast and annual budget/strategic business planning processes, as well as other ad-hoc projects with various departments and/or mine site/project teams.Job ResponsibilitiesThe Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will assist the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis function of the Kinross Finance department:
- Assistance with the month-end and quarter-end close, analysis and reporting process.
- Participation in the external financial reporting process.
- Participation in the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting/strategic planning process.
- Assistance with ad-hoc projects and requests from various departments, including working closely with the Kinross Operations Strategy and mine site/project teams.
- Analysis of financial information, including exposure to reporting and presentations thereof.
Education and Experience
- 2nd or 3rd year Business – Accounting/Finance (or related) program from a recognized educational institution with an excellent academic record.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to undertake various tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including for presentations.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and a sense of business curiosity.
- Ability to learn quickly and to work well in a team environment.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Spanish, French, or Portuguese language abilities would also be an added asset.
