Job Description

Position: Accountant

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join their team in Ottawa. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, analyzing data, and providing support to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
– Monitor and analyze financial data to identify variances and trends
– Assist with budgeting and forecasting
– Prepare and file tax returns
– Support senior management with financial analysis and reporting
– Ensure compliance with accounting principles and financial regulations
– Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and clients

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
– CPA designation or in progress is preferred
– 3+ years of accounting experience
– Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
