Job Title: Lead Caregiver
Location: Vancouver, BC
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM
Essential Responsibilities:

Supervisory Support: Oversee team attendance, manage call-offs, and coordinate shift coverage.

Resident Care: Assist team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care, including bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, and escorting residents to meals and activities.

Life Enrichment: Encourage resident participation in life enrichment programs and ADLs.

Meal Service: Assist with dining room services and coach team members on hospitality standards.

Documentation: Accurately document care provided and review team members’ documentation to ensure completeness.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to Sunrise’s timekeeping and meal/rest period policies.

Shift Preparation: Prepare resident assignments and distribute daily assignment sheets to team members.

Team Collaboration: Participate in crossover meetings to share and receive pertinent information.

Additional Duties: Carry resident assignments during overnight shifts and assist with unfilled shifts as needed.
Other Responsibilities:

Medication Administration: If cross-trained and credentialed, safely administer medications during high-volume periods or unexpected absences.

Onboarding: Support the onboarding process for new team members, including shadowing and skills demonstration.

Safety: Maintain a safe and secure environment by following established safety standards and reporting incidents promptly.

Communication: Report any observed or suspected changes in resident conditions to the department care coordinator and assist in updating Individualized Service Plans (ISPs).

Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts within the team, escalating issues to the department care coordinator when necessary.

Performance Reviews: Provide feedback for team members’ annual performance reviews.

Professionalism: Project a positive, professional, and friendly image through actions, words, and appearance.
Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED strongly preferred; may be required per state regulations.

Experience in a caregiving role, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
