Parker Huggett is hiring a Quality Manager for a permanent position on a major transit project in North America. The team is coming together to deliver one of the largest transit projects in the region.
Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON

Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Description:

– Design and implement scalable and reliable data engineering solutions to support the company’s data infrastructure
– Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise
– Optimize data processing and storage to improve performance and reduce costs
– Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation and monitoring processes
– Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering and contribute to the continuous improvement of the data platform
– Mentor and support junior team members and contribute to a collaborative and innovative work culture

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
– 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
– Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
– Solid background in designing and implementing scalable data architectures
– Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data tools (Kafka, HBase, etc.)
– Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
– Previous experience in e-commerce or retail industry is a plus
