Title: Child Protection Officer

Job Description:

The Child Protection Officer will provide technical support to the Child Protection project within Save the Children’s programs in Nairobi, Kenya. The officer will be responsible for implementation of Child Protection activities, supporting the Child Protection Coordinator in ensuring quality case management services, providing capacity building and training to staff and partners, and contributing to program design and development. The Officer will advocate for the rights of children, community engagement and participation, and provide support in integrating child rights principles into all aspects of Save the Children’s work.

Key Responsibilities:
– Support the implementation of Child Protection activities, including case management, capacity building, and advocacy.
– Provide technical support and training to staff and partners on Child Protection issues and best practices.
– Contribute to program design and development, ensuring child rights principles are integrated into all aspects of Save the Children’s work.
– Advocating for the rights of children and promoting community engagement and participation in Child Protection activities.
– Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning efforts within the Child Protection project.

Qualifications and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Protection, or related field.
– At least 3 years of experience working in Child Protection or related field, preferably with an NGO or INGO.
– Experience in case management, capacity building, and advocacy for child rights.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Fluency in English and Swahili.
– Commitment to Save the Children’s mission and values.
