Fire Protection Engineer

Overview:

The Fire Protection Engineer will serve as the professional engineer responsible for the development and maintenance of the fire protection design standards and specifications. This role will also be responsible for conducting site surveys to evaluate existing fire protection features and provide recommendations for improvements. The Fire Protection Engineer will also review and approve designs for new construction or renovation projects to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and regulations. Additionally, this role will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to provide guidance on fire protection best practices.

Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain fire protection design standards and specifications
– Conduct site surveys to evaluate existing fire protection features and provide recommendations for improvements
– Review and approve designs for new construction or renovation projects to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and regulations
– Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to provide guidance on fire protection best practices
– Conduct research to stay up-to-date on the latest fire protection technologies and code requirements
– Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in fire protection engineering

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
– Professional Engineer (PE) license required
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering
– Deep understanding of fire protection codes and regulations
– Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
– Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software
– Ability to travel to conduct site surveys and attend project meetings as needed
