Title: Network Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $80,000 – $110,000

Job Description:
Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Toronto. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
– Design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks
– Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
– Monitor all network performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal network performance
– Troubleshoot network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
– Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
– Support and administer firewall environments, router and switches
– Manage and configure cloud network architecture
– Provide 24×7 on-call support for critical network outages and maintenance
– Research and make recommendations on network products, services, systems, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
– 5+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or similar role
– In-depth understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
– Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
– Hands-on experience implementing and supporting complex multi-vendor network environments
– Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve network problems
– Network security experience, including firewall management and VPN implementation
– Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are a plus
