Medical Laboratory Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Perform venipuncture and/or capillary punctures for the collection of blood samples
– Handle and process specimens according to laboratory protocols
– Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures under the guidance of a medical laboratory technologist
– Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests and specimens
– Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory work area
– Comply with all safety and infection control policies and procedures

Qualifications:

– Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program
– Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is an asset
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
– Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
