Job Description:
Egencia is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on consumer electronics products. This role will require working closely with cross-functional teams to create cutting-edge designs that meet the company’s standards for performance, reliability, and cost.
Responsibilities:
– Develop detailed mechanical design solutions that meet product requirements and specifications
– Work with cross-functional teams to define mechanical sub-system requirements
– Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies
– Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to improve product designs
– Perform tolerance analysis and optimization to ensure designs meet performance objectives
– Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure successful production of designed components
– Support design validation and testing activities to ensure functionality and reliability
– Collaborate with other teams to develop new design concepts and innovative solutions for future products
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development
– Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo
– Experience with the design and development of consumer electronics products is preferred
– Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials used in consumer electronics
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
– Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
– Experience with product design for manufacturability and assembly is a plus
