The hospital and health campus will lead innovations in care, research, and teaching, in collaboration with the relevant Project Manager. To ensure effective information coordination, we are seeking a Project Support role that will facilitate this collaboration among key stakeholders.
The job description for the Project Support Coordinator, Transition Team position at Providence Health Care in Vancouver, BC, is as follows:
Position Title: Project Support Coordinator, Transition Team – NSPH Redevelopment Project
Location: Vancouver, BC
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary Range: CAD $31.80 per hour to CAD $39.74 per hour
Job Summary:
The Project Support Coordinator will assist the Transition Team’s Project Managers, Consultants, and Leadership during the transition and activation phases of the New St. Paul’s Hospital (NSPH) Redevelopment Project. This role involves supporting operational readiness, hospital activation—including clinical commissioning and staff orientation and training—and transfer activities necessary for the relocation to the new facility in 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Transition Team members and other stakeholders to manage administrative processes related to the project, including coordinating meetings, reviewing and updating documents, tracking issues, and maintaining up-to-date documentation, logs, and workflows.
- Support operational readiness, activation planning, and transfer phases of the project.
- Coordinate the activation center by developing guidelines, manuals, and supporting early activators in the transition, delivery, and long-term sustainment of the NSPH project.
Qualifications:
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Project Management.
- Three to five years of recent related project management experience with facilities projects within a large, complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools.
- Experience with redevelopment or healthcare projects is an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to implement and demonstrate knowledge of project management, process coordination, and quality improvement skills.
- Ability to conduct detailed research and analyze findings.
- Ability to plan, multi-task, organize, problem-solve, and prioritize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently using initiative and judgment.
- Proficiency in typing.
- Ability to effectively use a variety of computerized software, databases, and systems (such as Microsoft Office Suite, Reference Manager, and Internet Explorer).
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
