Assistant Store Manager, Waterloo – The Children’s Place

Job summary:
The Assistant Store manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the overall operation of the store to achieve company objectives, drive sales and profitability, as well as ensure long-term business growth. The Assistant Store Manager will act as a role model and maintain the stability and success of the store by leading the team and driving excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the Store Manager in achieving sales objectives through effective management of the store, creating a positive working environment, and delivering exceptional customer service.
– Train, develop, and coach store associates to achieve high performance and maintain company standards.
– Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
– Drive operational excellence by ensuring inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention procedures are followed.
– Create a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, promoting recognition and reward programs, and recognizing and addressing performance issues.
– Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business growth and success.
Qualifications:
– Previous retail management experience is required.
– Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
– Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
– Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
– Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
– High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in business or retail management is preferred.
