Dispatcher
GG Transport Ltd., located in Stony Plain, AB, is seeking a full-time Dispatcher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching trucks for both local and long haul operations. This role will require the individual to keep track of driver availability, maintain communication with drivers, and ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
– Coordinate and efficiently manage the dispatching of trucks for local and long haul operations.
– Maintain communication with drivers to provide necessary instructions and updates.
– Keep track of driver availability and ensure that all trucks have been dispatched according to schedule.
– Monitor and track delivery progress to ensure customers are kept updated on their shipments.
– Collaborate with the operations team to handle any last-minute changes or disruptions to the delivery schedule.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all dispatch activities and truck movements.
– Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
– Previous experience in a dispatching or logistics role is preferred.
– Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Proficiency with dispatch software and MS Office suite.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
