  • Perform nuclear and mechanical design of reactor core, nuclear components and radiation shielding through 3D modeling tools (Inventor, Solidworks) and analysis software (ANSYS, MCNP, SCALE, SERPENT, BISON, etc).
  • Perform reactor engineering design and analysis calculations related neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and/or radiation for steady state and transient conditions, including transport and Monte Carlo methods.
  • Familiarity with NRC, CNSC or IAEA regulations for nuclear design and accident analyses.
  • Familiarity with common and new nuclear materials and properties for modeling and design
  • Identify and define technical issues and challenges, direct efforts to successful resolution.
  • Capability to work across an integrated team of engineers and designers
  • Bring engineering rigor to resolution of problems that are sometimes loosely- or only partially-defined, requiring knowledge and experience within given discipline.

Minimum RequirementsThe successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering or physics
  • Preferable internship, co-op, or university laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with nuclear analysis codes such as SERPENT, BISON, GRIFFIN, MCNP, SCALE or equivalents
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in using LINUX (capable of running jobs using super-computers) and proficiency in computer programming/coding
  • Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills and experience
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks and perform tasks under pressure
