Your role:

The Digital Revenue Optimization team is connected to every facet of the organization as a strategic partner, supporting mainly the sales teams and operational decision-makers with the goal of maximizing revenue opportunities. As a result, we work closely with Digital Products (frontend and backend) teams; Content Creation Units including Radio, News, and Local Services; Marketing; Research; Business Intelligence; Media Technology and Sales.

The digital world is moving at breakneck speed, with more and more teams demanding real time data and sophisticated reporting. This growing demand is prompting us to introduce a data aggregator and modernizing our reporting process and infrastructure.

How you will make an impact:

The CBC/Radio-Canada digital footprint is one of the largest in Canada, which means you will have the opportunity to work with one of the biggest datasets in Canada as well as one of the country’s most visible and highly respected companies.

The Digital Media Sales team is a high-performing team that is transforming how CBC/Radio-Canada thinks about its data, audience and ad-products. Our big data practice is developing rapidly and you will be a key driver in this process. * You will be part of an established but growing data practice. Your contributions are guaranteed to have an impact on others, both inside and beyond the digital media sales team.

Your responsibilities:

Design high-caliber dashboards that deliver an outstanding user experience.

Develop and maintain specialized reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data from various systems including sales and marketing data warehouse on Cognos IBM analytics, Data Studio, Salesforce, MS Power BI.

Gather analytical needs from users.

Develop a good understanding of the analytical process followed by users in their decision-making or exploration.

Find and recommend innovative solutions to analytical challenges.

Create and develop visuals and ideal graphical representations for metrics and KPIs,

Maintain and develop on the cloud platform and Workspaces.

Manage permissions to reports, datasets and dataflows.

Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources.

Developing data cleansing rules for the company.

Research, develop, modify, and deploy data-collection processes.

Select and implement the best strategy for securing data access, Perform data aggregation and ensure data QA. Communicating insights to senior management and across the organization.

Qualifications

What you could bring to our team:

  • You are familiar with the delivery cycle of an analytical solution: from user needs-gathering through to solution deployment in the production environment.
  • You are an expert in Power BI data modeling as well as in DAX, M and SQL.
  • You are not afraid to work with others from the Power BI team, finance and ad-operations, look under the hood, discover what needs improving, optimize performance and share knowledge.
  • You are able to create dashboards that present, in a clear, engaging manner, data allowing clients to answer complex business questions and achieve their goals.

What you bring:

  • 3 to 5 years experience working with big data technology and reporting.
  • Experience in the media industry.
  • Knowledge of Google Ad Manager, Salesforce, Cognos, Power BI and their data.
  • Knowledge of the data science process and data mining algorithms.
  • Proficient in English, Solid command of spoken and written French an asset.
  • Location in Toronto or Montreal.
