Job Description

Property Manager – Ottawa, ON – 4 locations – (Accounting/Property)

Our client, a longstanding owner and operator of commercial and residential real estate properties is seeking to hire a Property Manager to manage a variety of properties in the Ottawa area. The Manager will report to the Director of Asset Management and will be responsible for managing four properties.

Key responsibilities include:

– Prepare annual operating budgets, financial reporting, and variance analysis
– Manage and coordinate all property management activities including leasing, vendors, and contract management
– Working with the Director of Asset Management and ownership to improve asset value through leasing and capital improvements
– Oversee Property Administration, tenancy and lease files, tenant relations and retention
– Ensure properties are well maintained by supervising building staff and contractors

The ideal candidate will have the following:

– 7+ years of commercial property management experience
– Financial management including preparation of budgets and reporting
– Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others
– Strong understanding of property management software and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
– Proven track record of working with tenants and strong problem-solving skills
– Knowledge of applicable building codes, fire and life safety standards, and environmental regulations
– Lease negotiation experience and conflict resolution skills

Strong organizational and teamwork skills are keys to success in this role. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure and independently.
