Our Digital Strategy & CRM Office is looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join the team on a temporary basis (12 months). The Digital Marketing Specialist, Social & Branded Content provides technical, creative, and content expertise to develop, support, maintain, and enhance Metrolinx and its Operating Divisions’ social media accounts, web-based communications services, and products.

What will I be doing?

  • Execute social media and web initiatives, including coordination of related materials with relevant departments (e.g. key messages, web content, social media content, multi-media content, and notes)
  • Develop, manage and execute social media, web and digital strategies with internal stakeholders, including ROI analysis, developing and tracking relevant success metrics
  • Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and maintain accuracy and attention to detail across all initiatives
  • Conduct research and make recommendations that leverage social media and web analytics to optimize marketing and communication strategies and ensure smooth rollout
  • Generate KPI tracking reports, as required, to provide a summary of analysis and make recommendations.
  • Use analytics tools to collect and analyze data to identify and provide improvements regarding the effectiveness of social media and digital
  • Update, navigate, and create engaging content and programs utilizing each of the major social channels, including understanding the terms of use and best practices for each
  • Manage editorial calendar development and maintenance across all Metrolinx brands, and facilitates team workshops
  • Provide support and integration across the business unit for the social and web planning process and recommend solutions and improvements to business processes
  • Research and investigate emerging areas of interest or relevant issues, and gathers background material, statistics, and other raw data, used in the development of engaging content and messaging to stakeholders.
  • Lead social media channel community management in collaboration with management and corporate communications
  • Establish and maintain communication channels with internal stakeholders to identify social media and web issues or opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Communicate the implementation of social media and web initiatives to business units and external stakeholders
  • Research, analyzes, and produces reports to validate social media and web initiatives to senior internal stakeholders
  • Respond to enquiries, provides advice, and makes recommendations in accordance with established legal and regulatory requirements and corporate policies, and procedures
  • Train other social media staff in the use of social media analytics tools

Qualifications

  • Completion of a diploma in a related field
  • Minimum six (6) years of related experience
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relating to social media and web communications, including privacy legislation
  • Experience with software and Internet-related applications, Internet protocols, applications, and applicable standards
  • Communications methods and practices, design, layout processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of web communications theory and practice
  • Publishing principles and processes to facilitate high-quality product outcomes and easy access to online materials
  • Experience with formal graphic design and layout principles to create graphical elements
  • Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills to develop, coordinate, and execute social media and web initiatives and produce related materials
