Position Overview:
We are seeking a true leader and agency veteran for an exciting Head of Copy role. This is a full-time, permanent role with our fintech client’s in-house agency. You will spearhead creative strategies, and craft compelling narratives that inspire action across multiple digital channels. As the Head of Copy, you’ll play a crucial role in the development of creative concepts, leading brainstorming sessions, overseeing campaign execution, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class creative solutions. You will mentor and guide 5-6 Copywriters, ensuring the work produced is strategically sound, on-brand, and meets the highest standards of creativity.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of high-level creative concepts and copy strategies for integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (paid media, banners, websites, email, and organic.).
- Collaborate with the Design leader to come up with cutting edge concepts for digital campaigns.
- Champion big ideas while maintaining focus on brand voice and tone consistency across all deliverables.
- Stay informed about current creative trends, industry standards, and emerging platforms.
- Oversee and mentor a team of copywriters, providing feedback, guidance, and fostering their professional development.
- Review and refine copy to ensure it meets client objectives and aligns with overall creative direction.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, strategists, and account teams to execute on client deliverables.
- Present creative concepts and copy to leadership, articulating the strategy behind the work and how it aligns with business objectives.
- Respond to internal stakeholder feedback in a timely and professional manner, making necessary revisions to deliver final work that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Craft engaging, persuasive, and original copy for a variety of mediums including websites, social media, email marketing, video scripts, and more.
- Ensure that copy is not only creative but also aligned with SEO best practices when applicable.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Work closely with marketing and media teams to ensure that creative ideas are data-driven and strategically sound.
- Contribute to the creation of creative briefs, ensuring that copy and overall campaign messaging is on-point and aligned with the client’s goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional copywriting experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role such as ACD or CD.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative thinking, big ideas, and polished, persuasive copy across multiple platforms.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strong presentation and client communication skills.
- A deep understanding of branding, consumer behaviour, and marketing trends.
- Experience in digital, print, and broadcast channels is a must; familiarity with SEO principles is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a creative team while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Experience in fintech or financial services is a huge plus.
