Job description: In the role of Bookkeeper, Accounting, and Administration, you’ll be a vital part of the accounting and administration team, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Finance & Administration. You will assume diverse financial and administrative duties to ensure seamless operation and overall proficiency within the organization. Even though this role doesn’t entail a leadership position initially, the likelihood exists for it to evolve into such as the company expands.Your responsibilities will vary and include:Accounting:· Processing fiscal transactions, such as payable and receivable invoices, recording payments, verifying invoices, and reconciling accounts.· Preparing fiscal documents like invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.· Aiding in budget development, monitoring, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and processes. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records.· Conducting financial reports and statement preparation in conjunction with the Senior Director.· Ensuring compliance with applicable financial and administrative policies, regulations, and procedures.· Assisting in the preparation and submission of obligatory reports and filings.Administrative Support:· Providing comprehensive administrative support under the guidance of the Senior Director of the finance and administration department.· Handling routine inquiries and correspondence from both internal and external parties.· Organizing calendars, scheduling meetings, and managing travel arrangements when necessary.· Participating in preparing and managing meetings, conferences and events.· Assisting in records management, filing and document management.· Safeguarding confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.· Identifying areas for process improvement and proposing viable solutions.Selected candidate should possess:· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.· A CPA designation or in pursuit of the same is an asset.· Experience working in a multifunctional role in both accounting and administration is favorable.· Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related software.· Experience with Canadian government grant reporting.· Excellent organization and attention to detail.· Effective time management and the ability to multitask.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Capacity to work independently and maintain effective team collaboration.· Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Please note, a hybrid work model is in place, offering a balance of remote work and 2-3 days per week on-site at our Hamilton office.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
