Working here is fast-paced, non-stop, and a little unpredictable—and we love it.Your area of focus.The Fixed Operations Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the fixed operations of multiple locations within a specific geographic region. Fixed operations typically include the service, parts, and body shop departments within automotive dealerships.What drives your day-to-day?From a regional perspective, working with the onsite Fixed Operations and Service Managers, oversee and direct all aspects of the Service, Parts, and Detail Departments:
- Understand and comply with Federal, Provincial, local and OEM regulations that affect repair operations.
- Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Make customer satisfaction a Platform priority and monitor results & feedback.
Analysis and forecasting:
- Assist the Fixed Operations teams at each location to forecast goals and objectives.
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budgets.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Fixed Operations Managers, Service Managers to ensure smooth and cohesive operation at each dealership.
- Monitor and analyze the East Platform performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability
- Make data-informed decisions based on a sound understanding of organizational priorities, customer feedback, analytics, benchmarks, industry reporting and emerging trends.
Leadership, Mentorship & Training:
- Lead, partner and mentor Fixed Operations Managers at each dealership in the region assigned
- Engaging and motivating the Fixed Operations Managers and their service and parts teams teams to achieve key goals, performance expectations and AutoCanada’s best practice processes.
- Foster professional team member development and coordinate with department managers to determine need for advanced training.
What are the must-haves…
- 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in a Fixed Operations and or Service Manager capacity.
- Stellantis, GM and Ford experience is preferred, but not necessary.
- Experience with overseeing multiple Fixed Operations rooftops is a considerable asset.
- A working knowledge of CDK.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- A keen ability to turn data into progressive improvement through consultation
- In-depth knowledge of automotive service and parts operations, including diagnostic procedures, technical expertise, and parts management
- Demonstrated ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel when required
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Bilingual language skills preferred (French & English as this role may be required to communicate in French and English)
