Our mission is to empower teams across the organization to scale and innovate through experimentation and the creation of exceptional digital experiences. This team is responsible for the final customer-facing experiences on Okta’s marketing websites, which receive over 100 million visits each month.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain robust OSGi services, workflows, data models, and integrations within the AEM framework to support efficient content processing and delivery.Collaborate on cross-team initiatives, including code reviews, design sessions, operational planning, and release strategies, with a focus on backend architecture and implementation.Develop and implement APIs, backend logic, and data models to support complex, data-driven web applications.Create and maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, data models, and backend architecture.Stay current on industry trends, backend technologies, and best practices in AEM architecture and integration, bringing insights to the team to improve our digital capabilities.Ideal Candidate:3+ years of professional Java development experience, with a focus on AEM backend technologies (JCR, OSGi, RESTful APIs, data persistence frameworks).Strong understanding of core web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience with backend data modeling, API design, and database interactions.Hands-on experience with OSGi service development, Sling models, and workflow design within AEM.Proficient with version control workflows, including branching strategies and code merging using Git.Bonus Points:Expertise in AEM security best practices and secure data access.Experience optimizing AEM backend performance, including caching, query tuning, and resource management.Familiarity with headless AEM deployments and content services.Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Sling Mocks).#LI-HybridBelow is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada.
