Position OverviewWe are seeking a Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist to join our client and help them organize, manage, and optimize their digital assets effectively. The Digital Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the organization, storage, and distribution of digital assets within our client’s DAM system. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage a large volume of assets, ensure proper metadata tagging, and enforce best practices for asset management. You will work closely with the digital and marketing teams to ensure seamless access to digital content across the organization. This is a hybrid role with their downtown Toronto office.Key ResponsibilitiesDAM System Management:

  • Manage and maintain the DAM system, ensuring all digital assets are accurately uploaded, tagged, and organized.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for the naming, tagging, and cataloging of digital assets, including images, videos, documents, and other media.
  • Monitor system performance, manage user access, and troubleshoot any issues related to the DAM system.

Asset Organization & Metadata Management:

  • Ensure that all digital assets are properly tagged with relevant metadata for easy search and retrieval.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent taxonomy and metadata schema that aligns with business needs.
  • Perform regular audits of the DAM system to ensure accuracy and completeness of metadata and asset organization.

Collaboration & User Support:

  • Work closely with creative and project management teams to support the efficient use of digital assets across various projects.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams and external partners on how to use the DAM system effectively.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate upload of new assets.

Asset Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of digital assets, from creation and approval to archiving and deletion.
  • Implement and manage version control for digital assets, ensuring that the most up-to-date and approved assets are available for use.
  • Develop and enforce policies for asset usage rights and expirations.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

  • Continuously assess and improve DAM workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate the DAM system with other content management systems (CMS) or marketing tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest DAM technologies and trends, recommending system upgrades or new solutions as needed.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Generate reports on asset usage, system performance, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze user activity and feedback to identify areas for improvement in asset management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital asset management, preferably within a creative or marketing environment.
  • Proficiency with DAM systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Widen, Bynder, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, taxonomy, and best practices for digital asset organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Technical proficiency with digital media formats, version control, and asset lifecycle management.
