In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with researching, developing, implementing, and monitoring a systematic framework of engineering systems and processes that are focused on best practices in data management for all hard rock engineering groups. You will serve as the gatekeeper for hard rock engineering master data in SAP ERP, leading crucial engineering data projects that apply change management principles to effectively assess the needs and return on investment (ROI) for changes. A significant aspect of your work will involve driving the adoption of these changes among various stakeholders, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, operations, and aftermarket teams. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement across all sectors of our business.Key Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage product configurations and production materials across diverse product lines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Gather, analyze, and accurately interpret financial, cost, statistical, and technical data related to products to inform decision making.
  • Act as the lead process expert for interfaced sales order entry, collaborating closely with commercial, finance, aftermarket, and operations teams to streamline processes.
  • Serve as the authority on product configuration processes and implementations, as well as cost modeling tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure proper management of engineering data, emphasizing secure storage and accessibility alongside master data management practices.
  • Facilitate data sharing requirements and implement security measures in partnership with operations, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and aftermarket sectors.
  • Apply detailed cost estimating techniques to create, maintain, and optimize cost models using Excel and ERP software solutions.
  • Identify and analyze cost drivers with teams to develop robust parametric cost models that help optimize operational efficiency.
  • Assemble, prepare, and present relevant information for business cases, including alternative solutions and risk sensitivity analyses for management evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) matrices and dashboards to monitor and report on various segments within the engineering department.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP software specifically for data management, cost estimating, and selling and fulfillment processes.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a global manufacturing environment with solid understanding of engineering, sourcing, and operations.
  • 1-3 years of practical experience in cost modeling across design, operations, or supply chain disciplines.
  • Strong comprehension of engineering data management principles and processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Thorough knowledge of cost estimating processes, procedures, and software with the ability to implement these effectively and timely.
  • Proficiency in reading BOM/cost structure analysis, enabling a thorough understanding of the cost implications of product designs.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including burn table, boring, press work, welding, and both electrical and mechanical assembly operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings to breakdown product designs efficiently.
  • Quality-related experience encompassing process auditing, root-cause analysis, and process improvements is essential.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate product requirements and propose effective solutions.
  • A critical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving abilities, capable of recommending solutions, negotiating, and executing contingency plans as necessary.
  • High degree of integrity and dependability, complemented by a strong results-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage directly with management and cross-functional leaders as required.
