Job description: The Senior Manager, Commercial Marketing is responsible for developing the commercial marketing strategy and implementation plans to grow Bullfrog Power’s commercial customer base. This includes managing existing B2B customer relationships, developing and gaining buy-in for commercial marketing plans, creating B2B acquisition and retention campaigns, launching new products relevant to our target market in conjunction with our parent company Spark Power, and managing 1-2 direct reports to support these responsibilities.
The candidate should have a passion for environmental issues and be motivated to innovate in the sustainability space.
Core Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Sales team to develop B2B marketing and implementation plans (to acquire new commercial customers, retain existing commercial customers, and launch new products in conjunction with Spark Power)
- Sets the budget, tracks relevant KPIs and reports metrics on a quarterly basis
- Continually refines marketing strategy/plan and budget based on market/competitor research, customer insights and results of marketing initiatives
- Manages our most important customer relationships and partnerships, ensuring retention strategies are in place for existing accounts and a high level of engagement is maintained across our commercial customer base
- Leads the commercial marketing team in developing customer-focused campaigns-this may include digital marketing, event planning and execution, collateral development, etc.
- Ensures our brand and reputation are well represented in all marketing initiatives and communications with current and prospective customers
- Assists the Sales team in developing sales pitches that include compelling, creative marketing pitches to support Bullfrog’s products
Skills & Abilities
- 5-10 years of strategic marketing, account management or product management experience
- Experience managing people
- Strong communications skills, including developing powerful client presentations
- Analytical skills; driven by metrics
- Self starter
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Toronto-based role, with a flexible work schedule (on occasion, may need to attend virtual client meetings scheduled on West Coast time, namely until 7 or 8pm EST)
- A passion for environmental issues, the ability to identify with customers’ sustainability goals
Qualifications
- Experience – The following experience would be an asset:
- o Creating campaign and account plans in sales and marketing
- o Digital marketing and social media
- o Sales, especially pitching new products
- o Experience representing a previous employer at tradeshows and events
- o Knowledge of the energy industry
- o 5-10 years of experience in marketing and/or account management functions
- o Experience managing people
- Education – Degree or diploma in marketing, business and/or environmental studies
- Licenses – Valid Driver’s license
