About this role:

Reporting to the Director of Digital Banking, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive digital analytics program for Meridian’s digital channels, as well as for motusbank.

Working in close collaboration with the enterprise analytics, digital banking, contact centre, marketing and IT teams the Digital Analytics Specialist demonstrates the capability to help to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound strategic decisions. The incumbent possesses a combination of digital business focus and advanced analytical, problem solving and strategic capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making.

This is a key role in a growing team that is helping advance our strategic priorities.

What you’ll do:

Reporting

  • In partnership with your peers, maintain existing reporting while working to improve and refine these reports and processes, and build new reporting as needed.
  • Ensure regular reporting is delivered smoothly and in a timely manner
  • Support and implement the automation of Digital reporting and analysis.
  • Work collaboratively to build dashboards focused on digital banking KPI’s such as digital adoption and digital sales.
  • Where applicable, provide ad-hoc reporting to clients for use in marketing tactics, product performance or Member specific issues.

Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct ad hoc deep dives to solve questions and inform strategic recommendations using a variety of data sources. Be comfortable telling stories with data.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate performance across Meridian Group of Companies digital products and services
  • Help educate the organization on the opportunities and pain points for members as they relate to our digital channels.
  • Proactively recommend opportunities for analyses that advance our understanding of our members as they relate to web and mobile banking.

Market and Competitor Intelligence

  • Possess and build a knowledge base of competitor information and intelligence for use in internal decision making
  • Review and provide insight into trends in digital financial services

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate data and insights effectively across the organization
  • Possess a strong attention to detail; be concise without comprising the facts
  • Well-organized with the goal of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in conducting analysis and working with diverse data sets, both structured and unstructured.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking, with natural curiosity
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technical

  • A working knowledge of data management programs such as SQL or SAS
  • Proficient with modern BI/Data Visualization platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Google Analytics and Google Data Studio
  • Experience working in scripting languages such as Python or R, VBA, would be a plus

Education, Designations, Training, and Experience

  • Post-secondary education with a focus in Technology, Mathematics or Business
  • Previous experience in business, specifically a financial institution would be beneficial
  • Experience/training in the development of reporting and analytics an asset
