Your opportunity:
The Program Coordinator, Intercultural and Global Programs will work as part of the International Student Experience (ISE) Team and will participate in the development and delivery of programs and resources advancing the international student experience. Reporting to the Associate Director, International Student Experience and Global Fluency, and under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, Inclusion and Diversity & Team Lead, ISE, the Program Coordinator will work across all ISE program portfolios and contribute their strengths in intercultural learning and global fluencies. The Program Coordinator will lead the development and delivery of programs, resources and initiatives in this field across the international student experience timeline, including transition in, the journey years and transition out.
The Program Coordinator will oversee some duties and training of the International Student Experience Ambassadors and works closely with the Resource and Information Team to deliver and promote ISE events, programs and educational workshops. The Program Coordinator ensures information is up to date on our website, social media, and digital communication channels, and reviews the impact and relevance of ISE programs through team evaluations and assessments. The Program Coordinator will work with the ISE team to design and continue to implement evaluation frameworks of its programs and initiatives.
Under the direction of the Associate Director and Team Lead, ISE, the incumbent will work closely with the University’s Student Life portfolios, tri-campus International Centres, student organizations, clubs and groups to implement and promote access to great programming, services, educational and outreach initiatives related to the international student experience. Through these partnerships, the incumbent also facilitates and promotes access to and awareness of international student experience programs, services, resources and initiatives across U of T while taking into consideration and positioning particular needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities;
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming;
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials;
- Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students;
- Writing summary reports on programs and services;
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities;
- Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration;
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience in designing, delivering and evaluating (international) student experience programs is required.
- Of the 4 years related experience, a minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in intercultural and global fluencies initiatives is required.
- Of the 4 years related experience, a minimum 3 years demonstrated experience with event coordination including logistics and delivery is required.
- Of the 4 years related experience, a minimum 3 years demonstrated experience building successful collaborative programming with a diverse range of stakeholders toward a common goal is required.
- Accreditation or equivalent in intercultural learning and global fluencies equivalent required.
- Demonstrated experience in program design, delivery and evaluation is required.
- Knowledge of international student transitions into and out of international higher education landscapes required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multi-campus or distributed student support services and international student experience from the student life cycle lens required.
- Exceptional intercultural competency awareness; experience working with diverse communities & cultures and an understanding of anti-oppression and equity practices, are required.
- Experience developing programs and initiatives within a team environment is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading large components of projects.
- Interpersonal and intercultural communications skills are essential.
- Excellent administrative skills, including word processing, data analysis, desktop publishing and experience with databases.
- Proficiency in developing assessment tools, analysing and interpreting data.
- Strong assessment (quantitative and qualitative) skills, including program evaluation and performance assessments.
- Proven experience in working in flexible environments and in dealing with uncertainty.
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy.
