What Is the Opportunity? The Travelers Canada Internship Program provides qualified students with an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience, receive valuable on-the-job training and learn more about the property & casualty insurance industry. Interns receive challenging work assignments that add value and impact the organization. This role will develop technology solution that support growth and profitability for the Travelers Residential Unit in Canada. The team is working with AWS, Node.js, APIs and other technologies utilizing High Speed Pipeline for deployments. This placement would provide an opportunity to learn how it works in Agile setting and helps the team to be efficient.
What Will You Do?
- Each intern will be expected to complete challenging and meaningful project work over the course of this program.
- Intern duties will vary based on the area of the business that is supported, specific assignments and business needs.

Our client is a successful sheet metal fabrication business which bridges the gap between design, prototype, and production. They specialize in low to medium volume precision sheet metal parts and assemblies for a wide range of applications and industries including aerospace, technology, medical, and pharmaceutical clients.
In order to support the existing product range and capitalize on new business opportunities, we are now seeking to recruit a mechanical design engineer with experience in precision sheet metal design using AutoCAD.
In conjunction with the existing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for turning customer concepts, drawings, models, and specifications into complete and detailed CAD drawings and product data packages for design and manufacturing.
Working from the company’s base in Orangeville, ON, this is a varied and interesting role for a qualified CAD Designer with excellent AutoCAD skills. The business values and rewards diligent, team-orientated colleagues who can adapt quickly to new and dynamic manufacturing environments.
Role Responsibilities:
– Liaising with existing client contacts to understand their design requirements and participate in concurrent engineering
– Designing, developing, and producing high-quality, detailed sheet metal design solutions in line with the company’s capabilities using AutoCAD
– Assisting in preparing estimates using CAD data and liaising with suppliers for material, manufacturing, and finishing process information
Experience Requirements:
– Proven track record of technical experience, including hands-on knowledge, in sheet metal design
– A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products for manipulating data and creating customer documentation
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The Ideal Candidate:
– Someone who can analyze, critically assess and make data-based decisions and appropriately implement those decisions
– Team-oriented but capable of working solo and problem-solving in complex manufacturing and sheet metal design processes
