Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op Student to join our team in Picton, ON. As a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op Student you will assist with supporting our team for a 4 month co-op work term beginning May 2024.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Support capital projects by preparing project work scopes, budgets, and payback calculation of new projects; developing progress and cost reports of ongoing projects.
• Support projects related to new installation, improvement of processes, major repairs and maintenance.
• Hire, schedule, and oversee independent contractors; provide safety orientation to visitors and contractors.
• Support with ordering of equipments and coordinating with projects contractors.
• Develop, improve, and maintain technical archive files (drawings, checklists, project files, maintenance history).
• Update plant process flowsheet.

What We Are Looking For:

• A demonstrated interest in safety improvement opportunities.
• Availability for an 8-month co-op beginning May 2024.
• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
• Good observation, critical thinking, and analysis skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Computer proficiency MS office. AutoCAD and Solid Modeling considered an asset.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must have own transportation.
