Job Description
Sika Canada Inc. Internship Program is looking for collaborative results-oriented candidates with strong critical thinking and communication skills. The internship is designed to give you an understanding of how safety is driven at a company who prioritizes safety first and has a strong safety culture.
During the internship, you will be exposed to various aspects of safety management. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation to build a career in the safety field.
Duration: 4 Months Internship (May 1st to August 30th, 2024)
Core Functions:
Support Sika’s Credit department by participating in projects or initiatives identified by the site. This could include:
- Assist Credit Supervisor with large account reconciliations, disputes, and shortages
- General clean up in Masterdata sheet – update to respective Account Receivable Coordinator in the region
- Update customer emails for invoices, statements, and order confirmations
- Assist with cash applications
- Post daily deposits, wire transfers and credit card payments in G/L and customer accounts
- Prepare daily bank deposits
- Reconcile deductions from deductions report and general clean up of accounts assigned by Credit Supervisor
- Other duties assigned by Credit Supervisor on a requirement basis
Qualifications
Minimum requirement
- Demonstrate your level of understanding by responding to verbal or written inquiries from supervisors, mentors, or program manager.
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Analyze data and develop reports.
- Good computer knowledge (Microsoft Office suite)
- Ability to work in a team
- Ease of collaboration with different stakeholders
- Adaptability and flexibility
- To be rigorous
- Focused on effective communications and information sharing
- Open-mindedness and friendliness
- Bilingual French and English an asset
Preferred Education
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Credit and Accounting or related field
Location of internship is Oakville, ON and/or Pointe-Claire QC. Internship will be conducted in-person
