About the Role

At Swiss Re, an internship can be much more than on-the-job training -As a part of the 10-week Career Exploration program you will have the opportunity to Develop:

  • Project Management, Communication, and Presentation Skills
  • Technical skills within your specific team

The opportunity is based in Toronto and interns must come into either office 2-3 days per week.

There is no coverage for meals, transportation, or housing.

About You

Our team is looking for someone who is:

  • A first or second year student at an accredited university/college
  • Motivated, open-minded, and curious about the Finance or Insurance industry
  • Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic
  • No prior insurance background is necessary

Project Manager

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. You will also be responsible for managing resources, communication with stakeholders, and ensuring that project goals are met.

To be successful as a Project Manager, you should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A successful candidate will also have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
– Plan, execute, and close projects according to schedule and budget
– Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders
– Manage resources, including assigning tasks, tracking progress, and monitoring expenditures
– Develop and maintain project timelines and budget estimates
– Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
– Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
– Report and escalate issues to management as necessary
– Perform risk management to minimize project risks
– Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Requirements:
– Proven work experience as a Project Manager
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong organizational and leadership skills
– Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
– Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
