Job description: Job Title: Avionics EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Avionics Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining Technical Requirement Documents and Engineering Technical Assessments, evaluating vendor technical proposals, preparing Design Change Proposals, and reviewing and approving vendor requirement specifications. Additionally, the role involves supporting aircraft test programs, preparing technical reports, managing avionic supply chain relationships, and supporting aircraft production and in-service aircraft modification packages.Responsibilities
- Define Technical Requirement Documents and Engineering Technical Assessments.
- Evaluate vendor technical proposals and internal Program Change Requests.
- Prepare Design Change Proposals.
- Review and approve vendor requirement specifications, design documentation, and modification summary packages.
- Support aircraft test programs including writing Test Definition Sheets, aircraft equipment integration, aircraft test witnessing, and subsequent test report development and review.
- Prepare technical reports to show compliance with applicable certification requirements.
- Ensure aircraft avionics airworthiness is maintained per required regulations.
- Technically manage avionic supply chain relationships by supporting technical meetings and writing/receiving Engineering Coordination Memos.
- Support aircraft production including problem solving and snag resolution.
- Support in-service aircraft by creating and reviewing engineering modification packages based on customer change requests.
- Support Service Bulletin development and in-service aircraft fleet investigations by addressing Service Difficulty Reports.
- Technically supervise and coordinate the work and mentoring of less experienced Engineers in the department.
Essential Skills
- Experience with aircraft integration systems, specifically integrating avionics suites on aircraft (e.g., communications/navigation systems).
- Previous experience with Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Bell Helicopter.
- Knowledge of avionics certification standards: TCCA (Transport Canada), EASA (Europe), FAA (US).
- Proficiency in writing technical reports and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with regulatory parts: Part 23, Part 25, and Transport Canada.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with avionic integration systems.
- Familiarity with part selection processes.
Work EnvironmentThe position requires working on-site 5 days per week, with flexibility for remote work options, although this is not guaranteed.
